This shrine is dedicated to Prince Shinno Morinaga, the son of Emperor Godaigo, who devoted himself to overthrowing the Kamakura Shogunate. In 1869, Emperor Meiji built a shrine at the place where Prince Morinaga passed away and named it "Kamakura Shrine" in honor of him.

There is said to be a stone pagoda which was made into the tomb of Minamoto no Yoritomo near the site of Hokkedo (tomb hall), with the remains of Hokkedo also found in the vicinity. Together they are designated as a National Historic Site.

Lived in for more than 160 years since the Edo Period, this fully renovated old-style house is situated in the dignified Nikaido area, which has numerous historic spots in verdant surroundings. You can entertain guests in the luxurious sweet room and restaurant.

Opened on April 3, 1928, Kamakura Kokuhoukan is a museum of history and art. It displays and preserves a variety of cultural properties such as sculptures, paintings, artifacts, calligraphy, ancient documents, and archeological materials, which have been donated to the museum by temples and shrines in Kamakura City as well as in the neighboring areas.

The fifth of the Five Great Mountains(temples) of Kamakura, Jpmyoji temple is a Buddhism temple belonging to the Kenchoji school of Rinzai Zen. There is a beautiful rock garden with a Japanese atmosphere. At the Kama Garden Terrace, you can enjoy the view of the garden while enjoying a cup of tea.
