This hall was built in 1932 as the main building of Okura Mental and Cultural Laboratory, by a business-man Okura Kunihiko, who bacame the dean of Toyo University. The hall was donated to Yokohama City in 1981, and after a major renovation to preserve the building, the hall was transformed into Okurayama Memorial Hall in 1984.The hall was designated as a tangible cultural property of Yokohama City in 1991, as the hall occupies an important place in the modern architechtural market. You cannot view the hall and the meeting room as the building is usually used as a local facility, but you can see the common space such as the entrance. The building is famous for being the site of filming, and over 30 films are shot in a year.

SNOVA SHIN-YOKOHAMA is an indoor skiing ground where you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding all year round. The course has an overall length of 60 m, width of 30 m, and a gradient of 10 to 14 degrees. Skiing/snowboarding school are offered to beginners, so it is a perfect place for getting started before the peak season.

Mitsuike Park has been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. Beginning with the winter cherry blossoms that bloom in mid-February, various varieties of cherry blossoms bloom at different times and are loved by visitors. In addition, you can enjoy nature—greenery and autumn leaves—throughout the four seasons, and there are playgrounds, baseball fields, and tennis courts to enjoy other leisure and play sports.

The Tsunashima Cherry Blossom Festival is held at Tsunashima Park, a 7-minute walk from Tsunashima Station, which can be accessed within 30 minutes from both Shibuya and Yokohama. Local neighborhood associations set up booths at the festival site, and the local shopping district provides a great deal of festival collaboration and fun. A flea market is also held, making the event atmosphere very lively. Performances such as traditional Japanese dances, koto playing, modern dance, awadori, and others can be enjoyed on the central stage.
