Araiya's signature dish "Gyu-nabe (beef pot)" has been loved by customers through years ever since we opened the restaurant 120 years ago. Our Gyu-nabe is a fruit of tradition and ingenious attempts. It is simmered with our secret stock made of sugar, soy sauce, mirin (sweet rice wine), sake and more.

This building was created to make the main street of Noge more beautiful as a part of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. It’s a prominent landmark of Noge. The bar street is an important part of the scenery that runs parallel to the Ooka River. Today, over 60 shops conduct business on the grounds. The Yokohama Heritage Association (Koueki Shadanhoujin Yokohama Rekishi Shisan Chousakai) manages the premises and it is currently designated as a Yokohama City Registered Historic Building.

The town had a black market during the postwar period and was crowded with people since it was said they had everything. Now, various bars and restaurants are increasing, like Spanish bars and bistros.This is Yokohama’s most famous and deep-seated drinking district. Since its opening in the 26th year of the Showa period (1951), Nogeyama Zoological Gardens has been popular as a familiar zoo. Admission is free and the zoo has a long history of breeding approximately 65 species of animals.The zoo will extend its opening hours on Saturdays and Sundays in August, and will hold a special summer evening event where the zoo will open to the public at night, an experience otherwise unavailable to the public. Visitors can enjoy a different view of the zoo at night when the zoo is decorated with illuminations and the animals are more active!
