Located at the foot of Mt. Chausu at an altitude of 1,300 meters, Omaru Onsen Ryokan has been preserved by generations of innkeepers for over 200 years. Rich in metasilicic acid, the spring water is known for its moisturizing properties and is often called “Bijin-yu” (Beauty Hot Spring). The historic Kawa-no-Yu bath draws its water directly from the river source, where hot spring water gushes from the mountainside to form an open-air bath along the river. Here, guests can soak while listening to the gentle murmur of the stream, enjoying the secluded charm of this hidden onsen. Omaru Onsen’s water, abundant in metasilicic acid, has long been treasured for its skin-beautifying effects. The ryokan features mixed open-air baths such as Shirakaba-no-Yu, Ajisai-no-Yu, and Azami-no-Yu, making it a great choice for families. The on-site restaurant serves local Nasu vegetables, Tochigi Wagyu beef shabu-shabu, and “Nasuhikari” rice produced in Tochigi. Sake enthusiasts can also try shochu diluted with hot spring water. During the Meiji period, General Nogi Maresuke visited Omaru Onsen every year for convalescence. The ryokan’s lobby still displays valuable artifacts, including his clothing, diaries, and letters.

Considered Nasu's foremost waterfall， Komadome Falls is three meters wide and falls approximately twenty meters from a cliff on the Yosasa River. Once， it was a waterfall that can only be seen after the leaves have fallen， but along with the establishment of Nasu Heisei no Mori Forest in 2011， as well as a falls observatory， it became possible to catch a glimpse of Komagome Falls throught the seasons (closed during winter). The observation deck allows you to see a full view of the waterfall from above， which is surrounded by emerald green trees in the early summer and a rainbow of colorful leaves in the fall. Around the end of October， when the autumn leaves are at their peak， the contrast of red and yellow in the valleys together with the clear blue of the waterfalls is a spectacular sight for visitors."

Mt. Chausu，located at the north end of Tochigi prefecture，is an active volcano and the main peak of the Nasu mountains. It stands 1,915 metres above sea level. Take the ropeway to the 9th station of Mt.Chausu for a spectacular view of fields of flowers and autumn leaves. If you are a big fan of trekking，try the routes from the top of the ropeway to the crater of Mt. Chausu. A wide range of walking trails are available suitable for beginners and families. The panoramic view of the Kanto Plain below from the top of Mt. Chausu is breathtaking.

200，000 azaleas over 23 hectares bloom on the hillside of the Nasu highlands， 1，100 metres above sea level. The best viewing season is mid-to-late May. The slopes of Mt.Nasu provide a full view of this incredible landscape. The fields of pink are nothing short of spectacular. A wooden walkway (accessible by disabled visitors) winds its way through flowering bushes allowing a close-up look and over a one-hour course.
