Journey Along the Tokaido
We will introduce a course that traces the roots and atmosphere of the Tokaido, a route that travellers once walked, from Nihonbashi to Hakone. From the starting point of the five main roads to the difficult checkpoints, we will travel a route that condenses the history of the Tokaido.

Nihonbashi
Nihonbashi is a Tokyo district where Edo-period commerce and the Five Highways’ origin meet modern finance, redevelopment, and culture, connecting past infrastructure with urban life.
Shinagawa Shrine
Shinagawa Shrine traces its origins to Tokugawa Ieyasu’s prayers for victory, preserving early Edo offerings. Facing 21st-century Tokyo, it is a rare place where history and the present intersect.

On the shores of Lake Ashi, Hakone Sekisho evokes Edo-period travel. Inspired by the relief and awe of travelers who gazed upon Mount Fuji, a single step inside draws visitors into their world.
