The OKIYA, originally built as a geisha house over one hundred years ago, was given a complete renovation, later reborn as a boutique hotel and tapas bar in the heart of Kiryu City. Kiryu City was once a large producer of silk and one of the largest textile manufacturing areas in the country. Travelers may even get the chance to see locals engaged with this time-honored craft, using traditional machines to weave glimmering threads together into stunning fabrics.
