With several types of baths, from indoor to open-air, along with a sauna, Mizunuma no Yu is the perfect place to unwind before or after your train journey.

Having recently opened in April 2025, Mizunuma no Yu is a natural hot spring facility located at Mizunuma Station in the city of Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture. There is much to be admired about this newly opened onsen experience. Literally located merely steps away from the train platform, the soothing effects of the natural hot-spring minerals beckon to many a wary traveler. This convenience is granted by the onsen’s proximity to Mount Kojin, with the latter feeding Mizunuma no Yu. From the bathhouse, guests can enjoy stupendous views of the mountain’s luscious splendor as they proceed to enjoy the several types of bathing experiences available.
The highlight is arguably “open-air bath,” a spacious open-air bath that offers unobstructed views of Mount Kojin’s fabulous foliage. Guests may then follow up by sweating their worries away in the sauna, before finally refreshing both body and soul with a bracing dip into the cold bath, which is fed by the mountain's groundwater. The bathing fee includes one complimentary soft drink, which guests can enjoy after their bath.
With all five senses fully relaxed, guests are encouraged to take their time in enjoying Mizunuma’s post-bathing offerings, at Komorebi-an, be it on the tatami or the wooden decking. Local delicacies are also on offer at the bathhouse, with the on-site restaurant, Satoyama Honjin, serving up familiar favorites such as Gunma’s okkirikomi udon; kettle-cooked rice with Akagi chicken, Gunma pork, or salmon and ikura; and sukiyaki made with Kuroge Wagyu or domestic beef.
