From ancient times and the Middle Ages to the Yokohama port opening and modernization, the exhibit looks at various historical perspectives under the theme of modern and traditional Kanagawa, taking into account people's lives and beliefs, political and economic changes, the influence of foreign cultures, etc. In addition, we regularly hold special exhibitions that are different from the permanent exhibits based on the research results of curators. Special exhibitions are held based on materials in the museum and collection exhibitions.

Araiya's signature dish "Gyu-nabe (beef pot)" has been loved by customers through years ever since we opened the restaurant 120 years ago. Our Gyu-nabe is a fruit of tradition and ingenious attempts. It is simmered with our secret stock made of sugar, soy sauce, mirin (sweet rice wine), sake and more.

Beer bike is a vehicle originated in the Netherlands that is pedaled by several people while drinking beer. Tours are offered to visit two breweries on a beer bike. (Reservations required through the official website.)

A promenade made by overhauling a dead track used by the former Japan National Railways that opened in 1911. It consists of three bridges connecting the Nihonmaru Memorial Park to the Shinko area. Skyscrapers of the Minatomirai area can be viewed from this 500-meter long boardwalk. Rubblework constructed at the time of the opening of the railways, a US-made railroad bridge and other historical structures are left in their original places. The Unga Park located at the end of Kisha Michi in the Shinko area has a plaza facing the promenade.
