The Yokohama Three Towers were nicknamed by a foreign sailor in the early Showa Period based on the face cards; Kanagawa Prefectural Government Building as the King, Kanagawa Customs Building as the Queen, and Yokohama City Port-opening Memorial Hall as the Jack.

Enjoy a video and light display projected on the ground at the Shinko Chuo Hiroba, along with a special program that integrates the surrounding buildings in a light show.

Nihon Odori is the first western style street in Japan. It was completed in 1870 and designed by R.H. Blanton. The stately historic buildings such as Kanagawa Prefectural Government, the Yokohama Archives of History, Yokohama District Court, Mitsui & Co.,Ltd. Yokohama building and the old Kanto Local Finance Bureau etc. line the Nihon Odori. In autumn, open cafes along the road are a popular resting spot with a view of beautifully colored ginkgo.Known for its gorgeous ginko trees, the street is most beautiful in autumn when the leaves are golden and the air is crystal clear.

A landmark dome built in the style of an Islamic mosque. Fondly known as the "Queen", this tower stands at 51 meters tall, making it the tallest of Yokohama's three towers. The current building is the third version (having been destroyed and reconstructed twice), and was completed in 1934. The customs materials exhibition room on the first floor, "Queen's Square," is packed with information on the history and role of Yokohama Customs, genuine and counterfeit goods, the Washington Convention, and smuggling methods. Look for Custom-kun (the customs mascot) at the entrance!

Displays materials on Yokohama history from the end of the Edo period/Opening up of the port period to the beginning of the Showa period. The building was formerly used as the British consulate until 1972.
