A factory with a long history, originating from Spring Valley Brewery (Yokohama Yamate), one of Japan's first breweries. During the hour-long factory tour, you can learn about the process of making beer, including preparation, fermentation, and packaging. At the end of the tour, you can taste freshly brewed beer and experience the mini-seminar on how to fully enjoy Ichiban Shibori. In addition to the tour, you can enjoy seasonal plants in the factory garden. We reopened as Yokohama Strawberry Park on April 23rd, 2022, with a new reservation system and only open on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. We allow you to enjoy fresh, delicious strawberries regardless of the season. The strawberries at our facility are carefully grown by people with disabilities under the guidance of strawberry cultivation experts. You can enjoy our strawberry juice and parfait, which both use strawberries harvested at our facility, at our cafe, which can be used without a reservation.

This is the scene of the Namamugi Incident in 1862, where British merchants were slashed when they interrupted the procession of Shimazu Hisamitsu, the feudal lord of Satsuma. As revenge, the British bombarded Kagoshima, resulting in the Anglo-Satsuma War. However, as a result of the war, ties between Satsuma and Britain were strengthened, encouraging modernization. These Anglo-Satsuma ties became the centre of the Meiji Restoration.

As one of the eight villages that offered seafood to the Shogun during the Edo era, Namamugi holds the event, the Namamugi Kyutokaido Festival, during which children and adults can eat all they want. The anago tempura is very popular.
