Mikasa Park, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Urban Parks and Japan's Top 100 Historical Parks, is Yokosuka's representative park. It features a statue of Admiral Heihachiro Togo and serves as the gateway to the Memorial Ship Mikasa and Sarushima Island. An area with lots of vintage bars about a 1-minute walk from Yokosuka-chuo Station. It’s packed with about 70 shops including long-established snack bars, karaoke bars, and Japanese-style pubs with great food. This place is also known as the birthplace of the Yokosuka Brassiere, a cocktail of brandy cut with ginger ale.
