This park is filled with beautiful roses and monuments from Verny's time in Japan. At one end is the Verny Museum celebrating Frenchman Francious L. Verny's contribution to the industrialization of Japan.

Hakusekiinari Shrine, lined with red and white torii gates, constructs a beautiful harmony with the temple grounds filled with flowers and a tunnel of torii gates and the surrounding mountains. In 1966, the temple enshrined the spirit of the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. Rows of more than 50 torii gates are rare on the Miura Peninsula.

Yokosuka Port has developed as a naval port ever since the American vessels commanded by Commodore Matthew C.Perry landed in Japan 160 years ago. Yokosuka is known for having the U.S. Naval Base United States Fleet Activities Yokosuka, and the headquarters of the Marine Self-Defense Force.
