The three-day hot-air balloon race is held close by the Watarase reservoir at the beginning of December. You can see dozens of hot-air balloons rising up the sky. Feast your eyes on brightly-coloredballoons filled with heated air.

Watarase Yusuichi (Watarase Wetlands) is one of the biggest wetland in Japan and has protected the lives and properties of urban areas from floods. It is also the treasure house for many species of animals and plants including endangered flora and fauna species and was registered to the Ramsar Convention Wetlands. Yoshi-yaki is done every year to get rid of the worms in Yoshi and to prevent the bush fires from spreading to nearby houses as well as to protect the invaluable wetland environment. The smoke， dust and ashes from Yoshi-yaki may be wide-spread due to the wind or up-current of the air and may blow onto surrounding properties. Please watch out for laundry hung outdoors and be aware when opening or closing windows."

This park is located in Mikamoyama which is mentioned in the famous Manyoshu collection of poetry. The park has fun facilities for all ages including the Adventure Forest and Wanpaku Playground for children as well as an herb garden. You can also board the Flower Train for a trip through the park around Mikamoyama. And with a variety of nature trails and hiking courses the park is popular with those looking to hike or just explore the outdoors."

The Tochigi Flower Center is located at the base of Mt. Mikamosan Park. Come enjoy a variety of flowers in a large flower bed shaped like six flower petals as well as the largest greenhouse in the country. The center plans a variety of exhibitions based on the season and also offers horticultural advice. Their permanent exhibits include flowers， fruits， and plants of the tropics and subtropics as well as strange， bizarre， and rare plants from around the world such as welwitschia mirabilis. Events are held showing off seasonal flowers."

Tochigi JIMINIE Club Mikamo Nature House is a nature experience-based educational center that opened in April 2024 within the prefectural Mikamoyama Park, which straddles Tochigi City and Sano City. You can learn about and enjoy the local area through a wide range of activities, including accommodation, experiential activities, camping, sports, and events.
