The Yamaage Festival is one of Japan's most unique festivals，a dazzling outdoor kabuki dance performance that has been carried on is the Karasuyama area since olden times.The festival was first held about 460 years ago by the ruler of Karasuyama Castle，Lord Suketane Nasu，to pray for peace over the land and dispel the plague that had been threatening his domain. The yama or "mountain" in the festival's name refers to the backdrops used in the performances.Handmade washi paper，a apecialty of the region，is pasted onto a bamboo frame and painted to look like mountains and waterfalls.Some of these "mountains" even reach 10 meters in height.Not only the dynamic kabuki and dances performed in front of these backdrops，but also the coordination and teamwork of the young male performers that form the heart of the festival are a sight to behold.In addition，it was enrolled in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in December，2016.

This museum features permanent exhibits about the Yamaage Matsuri of Karasuyama， UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and a National Important Intangible Cultural Heritage. At this facility， a human-like robot named Kansuke Jiisan (Grandpa Kansuke) provides a detailed explanation of the Yamaage Festival. Visitors can get a close look at the large stalls actually used for the festival as well as a one-fifth-scale replica of the actual stage. Local specialty products are sold at the convenient tourist product corner offering the perfect souvenirs."

History of "Shimazaki Brewery" The Shimazaki Brewery's history began in Kaei 2 (1849), and have continued to brew sake for more than 170 years. Using of the highest-grade raw rice, natural spring water from the Nasu Mountains, which have made Shimazaki Sake one of Tochigi Prefecture's best-known sake brewing brands.   History of Cave Brewery The Cave Brewery was originally a cave dug for the establishment of an underground chariot factory at the end of World War II, but the war ended before production could begin. After decades of inactivity, the cave became a natural cellar for Shimazaki Brewery to mature sake.   Features of Cave Brewery As the cave is completely protected from the sun, the temperature inside is maintained at around 50°F all year round, so it is advisable to bring a thin jacket to keep warm even in summer.   Inside the cave, you can see a whole row of matured sake that extends deep into the cave. Those are purchased by the consumer, stored by the brewery, and then handed back to the consumer after 5~20 years to commemorate important moments such as the coming-of-age ceremony, the birthday of family, or housewarming, and it is very popular. Clover Steak House is a restaurant offering dishes prepared with hand-picked ingredients. Standing on a hill, it also boasts a splendid view. Clover Steak House was started in 1990 by four people who believe in the power of delicious meals to make everyone happy. Using French culinary techniques as the base, dishes that customers find truly delicious are prepared through creative ideas and ingredients. The restaurant has a cooking competition which all members enter, and the winner’s meal is featured in the monthly lunch menu.

Near by the Nasukarasuyama City, Ryumon Falls is a large-scale waterfall that it is about 20-meter-high and 65-meter-wide. Halfway down the fall are two vertical holes called Ogama ("Male Cauldron") and Megama ("Female Cauldron"). Ogama has a diameter of 4 meters and Megama 2 meters. Due to the angle of the photo, you can see JR Karasuyama Line’s train through pass the Ryumon Falls. The cherry blossoms in the spring, the maple leaves in the fall, and the snow in the winter, along with the passing trams, make for a miraculously beautiful photo! Right next to the Ryumon Furusato Mingeikan is a path where you can walk to get a close-up view of the Ryumon falls.
