With the Nikko Mountain Range, the Nasu Mountain Range, and Mount Yamizo, Tochigi is a mountainous prefecture with many sources of fresh water. Pure water is said to be the "life of sake making," and many delicious sakes are created here.   We would love for visitors to Kinugawa Onsen to sample our excellent local sake. That's why, on weekends during the spring, Kinugawa and Kawaji Onsen Tourist Information Center will be holding a sake tasting event.   Please feel free to drop by for a quick drink after arriving in Kinugawa Onsen or while you wait for your train home. Kanaya Kashi Honpo is a gift shop and café operated by a long-established Japanese hotel. The product lineup includes cookies, based on an original recipe that combines Japanese and Western flavors, and baked confectionery such as pies. The signature Biscuit Series (Cookies) has three variations: Cheese Biscuits (Pastel), Sansho Pepper Biscuits (Loire), and Maple Caramel Biscuits. All of them are carefully made at a factory directly managed by the Kanaya Resorts group. The shop has a modern Japanese style café with the interior design emphasizing wood grains. During the lunch hours, you can casually enjoy the taste of hotel restaurants. Japanese-Style Beef Stew over Rice is a carefully crafted dish using miso and soy sauce produced in Tochigi and is the traditional menu item of the long-established Japanese-style hotel, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel. Roast Beef Plate is a dish that generously uses sirloin beef, the signature ingredient used at Kinugawa Onsen Hotel. Kanaya Kashi Honpo is the perfect place for taking a break or buying souvenirs during a trip.

These free foot baths are located at the plaza in front of Tobu Railway Kinugawa-onsen Station. The simple alkaline springs are said to relive conditions such as nerve pain and muscle soreness. The baths are often visited by tourists after a day of exploring or trekking in Kinugawa. They are also used as a meeting place by locals."

For the Ryuou Festival at Goryuo Shrine in Ryuokyo Canyon, a priest is invited from Nikko Toshogu Shrine to perform a Shinto ritual. Afterwards, in the evening, a grand festival is held in the hot spring towns of Kinugawa and Kawaji. At the main festival in Kinugawa Onsen, there is a procession of the magnificent Manto Mikoshi, or "Ten Thousand Lantern Mikoshi" (a mikoshi is a portable Shinto shrine), as well as the beautiful Onna-Taru Mikoshi, which is carried by women only. Additionally, there are folk entertainment performances, stalls， and for the grand finale, a brilliant fireworks display that lights up the night sky.
