The Moka Lantern Festival is held every year on August 15 at Gyokuya River Waterfront Park. The trees in the park are lit up, creating a fantastic atmosphere. On the stage, a concert will be held to bring back memories of the past. 3,500 lanterns floating on the surface of the river like scattered jewels will give you a sense of peace. We suggest that buy your lantern before the event begins. Okabe Memorial Museum "Kinrinso" has a circular Japanese garden and is surrounded by a stone wall made of local Isoyama stone (no longer produced).   The building was constructed in the middle of the Meiji period by Kyushiro Okabe, who collected building materials over a period of many years and trained carpenters and joiners in Tokyo for three years. The two-story wooden structure is a fireproof storehouse.   The interior is characterized by the use of ebony, ebony, and ironwood for all the alcove sections. Many of the paintings, calligraphies, and antiques in the interior are by authors closely associated with the region.   It was used as a villa of the Okabe family until 1952, as a venue for entertaining related parties and for displaying draperies. After that, it was used as a kappo restaurant "Kinrinso" until June 1988. In August of the same year, the city rented the building and decided to preserve it as the Okabe Memorial Museum "Kinrinso" in order to pass it on to future generations as a historical and cultural heritage of 100 years of Moka City's modern era.   It was designated as Tochigi Prefecture Tangible Cultural Property (building) on January 14, 2000, and together with the buildings of the Bussan Kaikan and Cotton Studio (now Cotton Hall), was donated to Moka City by the Okabe family in January 2001.  

The residence of Sadajiro Kubo， an art critic connected with Moka City， has been given new form as a tourism center. There are a total of five buildings here， which include a Tourism Product Promotion Center and an Italian restaurant， in addition to historical buildings consisting of an Art Exhibition Hall built in 1923， a Tourism Town Development Center built in 1879， and the Kubo Memorial Hall built in 1907.

Mooka Momen Cotton has a long history from Japan’s early modern period to the present day. These hand-woven cotton fabrics are especially fascinating for their unique texture. Pick them up and feel their special quality. Visitors can observe the weaving process at the Mooka Momen Kaikan (no reservation required). Hands-on weaving and dyeing experiences are available with prior reservations.

Moka Momen is a traditional fabric made in Moka City， which is so smooth to the skin that it resembles silk. It reached the height of its popularity during the late Edo period， but the work to create it， from cultivating cotton to spinning， dyeing， and weaving fabric， has been inherited by the Moka Momen Kaikan where even today it is all performed by hand just as it was long ago. In addition to fabric for kimonos， items perfect for everyday use are also produced.
