GOOD NEWS in the town of Nasu is a commercial building complex that connects farming, social services, and tourism to help create a sustainable town. The land is divided into GOOD NEWS NEIGHBORS and GOOD NEWS DAIRY. GOOD NEWS NEIGHBORS is a shopping area where shops working on environmental issues are gathered. There are nine shops in total including an outdoor gear shop for enjoying nature and a roastery café that composts waste coffee grains. GOOD NEWS DAIRY, as a communicator of the attractiveness of Nasu where dairy farming is active, sells soft ice cream from a ranch where the forest is effectively used in dairy farming, and offers products from a cheese factory working on upcycling of waste whey.

Enjoy 30 minutes of unlimited strawberry picking between December and May. These juicy strawberries are nourished with gentle sunlight and delicious water from Mt. Nasu. Pre-packaged strawberries are also available at “Okashi no Shiro” (The Sweets Castle).

Tochigi is Japan’s largest producer of strawberries. The prefecture has the perfect environment for fresh and sweet strawberries, blessed with abundant sunshine, clear spring water, fertile land and an inland climate with a large difference between high and low temperatures. Strawberry picking is a popular leisure in strawberry farms across the prefecture. Starting with “Tochiotome”, the nation’s superstar brand of strawberry, come and sample some of the many varieties available, some of which are only grown in the prefecture. “Skyberry”, the brand-new premium variety created as a successor of “Tochiotome”, is increasingly popular. The perfect flavours and amazingly large-fruit are utterly delicious!

Okashi-no-Shiro Nasu Heartland (Sweets Castle Nasu Heartland) is a confectionery studio that produces baked goods and cakes using the finest ingredients. There is a tour space where visitors can see the confectionery production process up close. There are also other hands-on facilities such as crafts, strawberry picking, and hot spring bathing facilities.   <Nasu Kogen Ichigo no Mori Strawberry Picking Farm> From December to May every year, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat strawberry picking for 30 minutes. The varieties are "Tochiotome" and "Tochiaika". (Selection required) Enjoy the sweet and juicy strawberries that are in season in winter to your heart's content.   <Nasu Hana to Taiken no Mori (Nasu Flower and Experience Forest)> In addition to being able to experience crafts such as making wreaths and herbariums, there are many other experiences available, such as a sweets-making experience that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, and a walking trail where you can enjoy forest bathing.   <Gensen Nasu Zan Reiwa no Yu (Source Hot Spring)> This is a day-trip bathing facility built in the style of a Japanese house. The spring water is a chloride hot spring, which is gentle on the skin and warms both the body and soul from the core.

Shirasagi-Tei is a restaurant operated by Cheese Garden, a Western confectionery brand that sells products using cheese. In the open and spacious glass-walled restaurant, you can feel the nature of Nasu as you look through the windows at the garden featuring local flowers and seasonal plants. There, you can also enjoy the changing of the season. Shirasagi-Tei’s recommended dish is Light and Crispy Loin Cutlet. With domestically produced pork, the dish is high in volume but light. Our signature Shirasagi-Tei Special Black Curry over Rice is also a wonderful dish prepared with a lot of time and effort. You will taste the flavor of beef, simmered and soft, concentrated in the curry roux with a hint of spiciness. Next to the restaurant is the main shop of Cheese Garden where you can purchase specialty confectionery.
