Guaranteeing privacy and an unobstructed connection to local nature, a stay at Oyado Hanakanzashi is sure to relax and rejuvenate both body and soul.

Located within the renowned Dak Onsen, Oyado Hanakanzashi boasts a 1,200-year hot spring history. Hanakanzashi is a hot-spring ryokan that remains tethered to eras past, with its wooden architecture preserving an early-Showa aesthetic.

Following a 1-hour 15-minute Shinkansen trip from JR Tokyo Station to Koriyama Station, a 20-minute Tohoku Main Line journey to Nihonmatsu, and a final 15-minute shuttle bus to Hanakanzashi, guests can disassociate from the din of Tokyo’s neon and embrace the tranquil serenity of Dake and Mount Adatara. Prioritizing a reverence for tradition and a commitment to guest satisfaction, Hanakanzashi invites guests to relax their shoulders and breathe a sweet sigh of relief.

Three of Hanakanzashi’s eight rooms are equipped with open-air onsen baths, ensuring that guests can enjoy an uninterrupted and intimate connection with the nature that surrounds the inn. Being situated at the foot of the grand Mount Adatara, the luscious natural splendor of Dake is worth being out in the elements. Furthermore, with only eight guest rooms, even the public bath may feel private.

The dining experience at Hanakanzashi is presented in the traditional kaiseki (multi-course meal) style, once again emphasizing the inn's adherence to its historic roots. With delicacies prepared with local ingredients from the Fukushima and Tohoku regions, the menu may shift with the changing of the seasons, but the overall mission of enjoying local flavor remains a priority. Meals are served in private rooms, with a staff member explaining each dish in intricate detail. Paired with local sakes and wines, the kaiseki evening meal at Hanakanzashi is the best way to indulge in local delights.
