Become a member of the Minamiboso community for a day at this school-turned-community center, where you can enjoy outdoor activities and more. A visit to Heguri Hub will take you into the foothills of Minamiboso, a seaside city on the southern end of the Boso Peninsula in Chiba. This community and culture center is situated inside the former Heguri Nursery School, which has since been revitalized to build this wonderful space for the local community and visitors to interact.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of a seaside community
Unwind and relax in Minamiboso’s tranquil atmosphere while enjoying delicious meals and specialty coffee, hit the dog run with your four-legged friends, or rent a cross bike or e-bike to explore the surrounding area.
A modern guesthouse and camping ground are also available, if you would like to stay in Minamiboso for a bit longer. Whatever you may choose to do at Heguri Hub, you won’t be disappointed.
Grab a bicycle and head out on your next adventure
Despite its proximity to the sea, Heguri Hub is located in a serene satoyama area where agricultural lands and communities border forested foothills. The charming landscape attracts cyclists from near and far, who are welcome to visit Heguri Hub’s cyclist-friendly facilities and services. The restaurant offers takeout for people passing through, as well as a Clubhouse catered to cyclists that includes a rest area, showers, changing room, bike tools, and other amenities. At Heguri Hub, you can enjoy the outdoors just a short distance from Tokyo, while supporting a local community and a culture of appreciating nature and fostering connections between people.
Access to Heguri Hub
Heguri Hub is a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Iwai Station, which is approximately 2 hours from Tokyo Station or Shinjuku Station on the JR Uchibo Line. Another option is to take a highway bus from Tokyo Station or Shinjuku Station for around 1 hour and 35 minutes to Highway Oasis Furari. From there, Heguri Hub is a short 10-minute taxi ride away. Heguri Hub is open from 9:00 to 16:00. The Clubhouse is open from 8:00 to 16:00 on weekends and holidays (it may open on weekdays if staff are available).
