Tochigi Flower Center

The Tochigi Flower Center is located at the base of Mt. Mikamosan Park. Come enjoy a variety of flowers in a large flower bed shaped like six flower petals as well as the largest greenhouse in the country. The center plans a variety of exhibitions based on the season and also offers horticultural advice. Their permanent exhibits include flowers, fruits, and plants of the tropics and subtropics as well as strange, bizarre, and rare plants from around the world such as welwitschia mirabilis. Events are held showing off seasonal flowers."

Roadside Station Meiji no Mori Kuroiso

Roadside Station Meiji no Mori/Kuroiso was opened as a roadside station when improvements were made to the Aoki Nasu Bettei second home on a 7.5-hectare lot. This roadside station is located on the side of the Kuroiso-Tajima Route (Prefectural Route 369), which runs through Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture. It features farmer's market that offers fresh produce, local eggs, and dairy products,restaurant, a bakery, and more. It is located adjacent to the Former Aoki Family Nasu Villa. This villa that belonged to Aoki Shuzo is a nationally-designated Important Cultural Property."

Heiwa Kannon

Heiwa Kannon

This huge statue of the goddess Kannon was carved into the wall of a former Oya stone quarry and stands 27 meters tall. It was entirely hand carved as a prayer for those who have fallen in battle and as a hope for world peace. There are well maintained paths and stairs around the statue and from the top you can see all across Oya. If you are visiting Heiwa Kannon, you might also want to check out the Oyaji Temple and the local history museum that are nearby."

Kinu-Tateiwa Otsuribashi (Suspension Bridge)

Kinu-Tateiwa Otsuribashi (Suspension Bridge)

This is a 140-meter-long pedestrian suspension bridge which connects the Kinugawa hot spring resort to the Place of Scenic Beauty, “Tateiwa” (lit. Shield Rock). Below the bridge which has a height of about 40 meters, you can see the Kinugawa River, and you can enjoy the mountains which are dyed crimson and yellow during the season of autumn colors. Standing near to the suspension bridge, “Tateiwa” as its name suggests resembles the shape of a shield. It is also known as the “marriage bridge” as it connects the two, both the manly “Tateiwa” which rises up opposite the bridge and the feminine Kinugawa River which leisurely flows past."

Nichien Momiji Line

Nichien Momiji Line

This 1000-meter-high and 28 kilometer-long scenic route connects Kinugawa Onsen with Shiohara Onsen. It has many scenic spot with natural beauty to enjoy such as Taikooroshino Falls and Shirataki Falls. The views from the Fujimidai observatory are also excellent. The fall foliage is especially beautiful around mid-October to early November each year. The Kinugawa Onsen and Kawaji Onsen hot springs districts are also located nearby. A toll is required to access the road."

Ryuka falls

Ryuka falls

Ryuka Falls is a famous waterfall which flows and falls over 3 drops, and is both beautiful and imposing. There is a viewing platform close to the waterfall basin where visitors can feel the force of the waterfall. Even among the many waterfalls of Shiobara, said to be as many as 100, this fall ranks in the top 10 most famous. There is a promenade which makes for an easy to walk course, which is only a short distance and with very little height variation, making it easy for even for families to enjoy the walk together."
