Hokoku-ji Temple

This ancient temple in Kamakura is known for the 1,000 moso bamboo trees on its grounds. Even in the present day, the solemn atmosphere of the temple conveys the tragedy of the Ashikaga clan. It also features a beautiful bamboo grove and garden. The “Sunday Zazen-kai” (Zen meditation), which has a reputation for being strict, is held every Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. and is open to everyone. Please wear comfortable clothes to participate.This is probably the most impressive bamboo grove you will ever see. Be sure to get tickets for the temple's tranquil teahouse experience before entering.A temple in Kamakura with a beautiful garden and bamboo grove. A Sunday Zen meditation session is held at 7:30 in the morning every Sunday and is open to everyone. The session is reputed to be very strict, and be sure to wear comfortable clothing if you would like to participate.

Forest Adventure is a leisure facility that originated in France. As the name "Forest Adventure" in Japanese implies, it is a nature-symbiotic outdoor park where visitors can enjoy full-scale ziplines wearing special harnesses. The Discovery Course is 10 meters high and over 100 meters long, and the zipline is a sight to behold. The course takes more than two hours to complete. Anyone can enjoy the zipline with peace of mind, as you will receive a thorough safety course beforehand. Shoes and other equipment are available to rent, making it easy to participate.

Lacquer Workshop, NAMIKI (PILOT)

Pilot Corporation, known today for the pens, created a high-end fountain pen utilizing Maki-e lacquer techniques in 1926 (Taisho 15). Later, the Kokkokai (a group of Maki-e artisans) was founded with living national treasure Maki-e artisan, Gonroku Matsuda, as its center. As a result, the ancient Japanese art of Maki-e has been preserved for over 100 years. Today, the workshop is in a brick building in Hiratsuka, which previously housed the former Second Navy Ammunitions Arsenal. The history of Maki-e-lacquered fountain pens and lacquered pieces are part of the exhibit.

It is a sake brewery located in Matsuda-cho, Ashigarakami-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a long-established sake brewery founded in 1825 which focuses on Japanese sake under the brand name "Matsumidori". Using water from the Tanzawa mountain range, the sake is soft on the palate and has a gentle taste. The Kamakura Seaside Park faces the coastlines of Yuigahama Beach and Inamuragasaki. The area is divided into three districts: The Yuigahama area with an open grassy square and playground equipment, the Inamuragasaki area which is a historical site with an observation deck, and the Sakanoshita area which is right by the sea. Loved by many people, the area offers views of Izu Oshima Island and the Izu Peninsula on sunny days. The Inamuragasaki area makes use of the natural geography and has an open grassy lawn where visitors can enjoy beautiful views. In the winter, Mt Fuji is sometimes visible in the background behind views of Enoshima. It is also a designated historical site well known for the legendary story of Nitta Yoshisada’s campaign.

Spanning 64,925 square meters, Ashinoko Camp Village is a beautiful camping site located on the shore of Lake Ashi (Ashinoko), Kanagawa. Visitors can stay in a private cabin, equipped with a fully-furnished kitchen, a toilet and bath, and six beds. Alternatively spend a night under the stars at the camping grounds, with necessary facilities conveniently located nearby. Visitors are also welcome to use the campsite’s barbequing grounds, where food items can be brought, or purchased from the Camp Village’s set menu. Of course, late-night snacks and drinks are readily available at the campsite’s in-house convenience store and the multiple vending machines located around the campsite. The campsite also offers rental bicycles, so guests can conveniently move around and explore beyond the campsite. Mandarado Yagura Caves

Yagura are square, horizontal caves dug into rock cliffs where tombstones housing bones of the deceased were erected for memorial services. They are unique structures built primarily in Kamakura and its surrounding areas from the late Kamakura period (1185-1333) to the early Muromachi period (1336-1573). The Mandarado Yagura Caves can be found on the historic Nagao Kishidori Pass, and boasts of one of the largest known clusters, comprising over 150 confirmed caves. Few other locations within Kamakura City offer such a concentrated view of well-preserved yagura. Enjoy the unique, spectacular view of the rows of caves spanning multiple layers.

There are different areas for different flowers such as the rose garden or Chinese peony garden. There are sometimes exhibitions inside the greenhouse. There is also a lawn area, a pond, and a Japanese garden. Enjoy relaxing amongst the beautiful and cute flowers.
