Samurai Theater Tokyo
A Thrilling Dive into Samurai Culture
Step into the world of Japan’s legendary warriors at Samurai Theater Tokyo in Kagurazaka, where history and action merge into an unforgettable experience. Situated in a district once home to samurai residences, this unique attraction connects you with Japan’s samurai heritage through performances and interactive programs. For everyone from history buffs to curious travelers, Samurai Theater Tokyo offers an authentic and immersive adventure unlike any other.

Live the samurai experience
Samurai Theater Tokyo brings the spirit of the samurai to life with two engaging programs. The “Samurai Experience” allows participants to dress in traditional kimono and hakama, learn sword techniques, and perform a choreographed battle against a villain. Guided by professional actors—many of whom have appeared in historical TV dramas such as the Taiga series—this experience combines authenticity with exciting action. It’s also a great opportunity to capture stunning photos and videos in full costume.

Slash it like a pro
For those seeking a more hands-on challenge, the “Japanese Sword Cutting Experience” offers the rare opportunity to handle a real Japanese sword. Under the careful supervision of professional instructors, you will safely practice iaigiri, the samurai technique of drawing the sword and cutting in one fluid motion. Cutting through tatami mats with precision is a true test of focus and skill, providing a glimpse into the discipline and artistry of Japan’s warriors.

Whether you're wielding a sword for the first time or perfecting your technique, Samurai Theater Tokyo offers an immersive and unique journey into the world of samurai. Don’t miss the chance to take part in this cultural adventure during your Tokyo visit.
