An area with lots of vintage bars about a 1-minute walk from Yokosuka-chuo Station. It’s packed with about 70 shops including long-established snack bars, karaoke bars, and Japanese-style pubs with great food. This place is also known as the birthplace of the Yokosuka Brassiere, a cocktail of brandy cut with ginger ale.

Sano Natural Hot Springs well up from 800m underground. The water contains sodium chloride, which is effective for heat retention and skin moisturization. Since its alkaline water removes sebum and unwanted substances resulting in beautiful skin, this hot spring is known as the “Spring of Beauty” or “Beautiful Women Spring”. One dip in this hot spring will leave you feeling refreshed and your skin smooth. With a bedrock bath, rock salt sauna, and more, it is no wonder that the facilities are loved by those of all ages and genders.

Sarushima is the only deserted island in the Tokyo Bay area and is also the biggest natural island. Here you can enjoy many activities such as barbecue, fishing, and strolling around major historical ruins. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get there by boat from the Keikyu Line Yokosuka Chuo Station. (The boats to Sarushima have different capacities, ranging from 80 people to 200 people maximum depending on the season.) This easily accessible sightseeing spot is designated as a National Historic Site.Sarushima was originally a defensive outpost. These brick tunnels, alongside other abandoned structures, are signs of its military history.Before or after getting the boat to Sarushima, we recommend checking out the memorial warship Mikasa, which is in Mikasa Park adjacent to the pier. Mikasa is the oldest surviving steel battleship in the world and is recognized as a Cultural Property of Japan. On board, you will find a great number of historical exhibits. Additionally, on the first floor of the Mikasa Terminal (opened in July 2020), you can buy tickets for the boat to Sarushima, as well as souvenirs and light meals. There is also a tourist information center. We recommend that you visit the Sarushima Visitor Center on the second floor while you wait for the boat. There is no reservation system for boarding, so please arrive well in advance of your desired departure time. The Mikasa Terminal is also the base for landing tours to Tokyo Bay's No.2 Sea Fort.

Memorial Ship MIKASA is a battle ship that was built in England 1902 (Meiji 35). In 1905 (Meiji 38), MIKASA was led by Admiral Heihachiro Togo, Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Fleet, and battled as a Falg ship of the Combined Fleet in the Battle of Tsushima. Japan won an overwhelming victory in the battle against Baltic Fleet of Russia. Japanese are proud of MIKASA's unsurpassed accomplishment, and the ship is the symbol of our pride.Listed as one of the worlds three great memorial ships, Mikasa was used defensively to defeat the Russian Baltic fleet during the Japanese-Russo War. Below deck is a great museum filled with excellent presentations about the ship's history.
