* Nikko Soba Festival has been cancelled in 2020. At the Nikko Soba Festival， you can enjoy soba noodles made not only in Nikko—famous for its buckwheat production—but also in other parts of Japan. Be sure to visit the street stands selling utensils for making and eating soba alongside other specialty products from Nikko. Don’t miss the various traditional performances that accompany the noodles."

This park surrounds Nikko Suginamikimichi， the world's longest tree-lined street. In the park， there is an old-fashioned water mill once used in the production of incense sticks for which the area is well-known， and a traditional wooden farmhouse from 1830."

In Nikko city， there are lots of handmade soba (buckwheat noodles) shops. (there are over 100 soba shops) It is said that the number of shops rate per the population is No.1 in Japan. Also the production of buckwheat is No.1 in Tochigi prefecture. Additionally Nikko city is rich in fresh ground water for soba which originates from the mountain of Nikko. Of course， soba masters have special skills to make it. That’s why the city of Nikko is called “the city of soba”. We look forward to meet you. One of the Imaichi area’s most popular events is its annual fireworks display， Over 5000 Shot Fireworks， which various types of fireworks decorate the night sky over the Daiya River.  

Katayama shuzo is a family run company from 1880 in Nikko. What particularly interesting is they use a traditional machine to make sake as shown here. The machine is called a "Fune" they use this machine to press the sake bags squeezing out sake. This technique takes a lot of time & labor. Exactly， they can make a distinctive flavor of sake.
