It is said that the ume (plum) groves were first planted by the Hojo clan during the Warring States period to provide food for the troops (some theories exist). Among the three plum groves: Bessho, Hara and Nakagawara, around 35,000 plum trees are in full bloom during the correct season and are framed by Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Located at Shinnase Beach in Hayama, Kanagawa, Hayama Ocean Sports offers year-round standup paddleboarding (SUP) lessons. But these aren’t just any ordinary SUP lessons. While paddling, students get to enjoy a picturesque view of Mount Fuji. The nearby Najima Island, a small island with a torii gate, can also be seen. The 2-hour classes are kept to a small number and are led by instructors with over 10 years of SUP-teaching experience. Instructors closely guide participants through the basics for about an hour and a half, before students are given free time to paddle on their own. Included in the package are required SUP equipment, a wet suit, as well as a life vest. The Tsubaki Line refers to the Kanagawa Prefectural Road No. 75 Yugawara Hakone Sengokuhara Line. At “Tsubaki-dai,” chosen as one of Kanagawa’s 50 most beautiful sights, there is a small plateau in the middle of the Tsubaki Line that connects Oku Yugawara Onsen and Daikanzan. There are many camellia trees growing along the Tsubaki Line, and the viewing season is from February to April.

Known as the Novelist Kaiko, Kaiko Takeshi moved from Suginami, Tokyo to this location just south of the eastern shores of Chigasaki in 1974, and was active at this location until he passed away in 1989. This Kaiko Takeshi Memorial House was built in memory of his accomplishments and character which many are moved by.

Exhibits are everyday use tools used by ordinary people in the Edo period, the Meiji era, the Taisho period, and the early Showa period. You can have a glimpse of the good old Japan that has since been forgotten. There is also an experience corner where you can actually try using them.

Located at the entrance of Enoshima, Enoshima Island Spa is a hot spring facility with a natural hot spring and spa pool. It is situated in a great location with views of the sea of Shonan and Mt. Fuji on a clear day. The hotel building opened within a two-minute walk from the island in April 2020, allowing what was previously a day trip facility to cater to staying guests. Hikawa maru is a cargo-passenger ship built in 1930 at Yokohama and used for a Seattle Sea Route, which was designated as a important cultural property. In the ship, you can observe Art Deco-designed furniture at 'The Passenger's area' and a dynamic engine-room at 'The Crew's area', and you can learn the history of Hikawa maru at 'The Exhibition area'.

Kouka Awazu is a Japanese calligrapher. She started teaching calligraphy because she had a great experience when she performed abroad and received enthusiastic applause. At this calligraphy school, foreign people can experience Japanese calligraphy in short time and in deep understanding. They offer an English course.

In the evening, approximately 2,500 lanterns brilliantly illuminate the 3.5km-long Ookagawa promenade lined with fully-blooming cherry trees.

It is a street with many shops on both sides, which extends from Kawasakidaishi Daisanmon. The length of the street is about 200 m. Sales staff are working with enthusiasm and selling specialties, such as Tontoko Ame (candy) and Kuzumochi.

Approximately 500 cherry trees, including the Yoshino variety, line both banks of the Hikiji River, spanning about 1.3 kilometers. Many people visit when the blossoms are in full bloom, as they form a gorgeous tunnel around the river, making for a picturesque scene.Visit in early April to appreciate the beautiful blossoms.

This aquarium boasts a fantastic location with Sagami Bay stretching out in front of the aquairum, Japan's highest mountain, Mt. Fuji, to the right, and the scenic Enoshima Island to the left. It centers around the theme of "Sagami Bay and the Pacific Ocean", featuring many of the local creatures. This is an "edutainment-style aquarium" where you can learn about the ocean and its surrounding environment while having fun. There are plenty of attractions to see, including the Sagami Bay Zone, the Jellyfish Fantasy Hall, and the Sea Turtle Beach. The dolphin show, performed against the backdrop of Sagami Bay, is one of the most popular shows. You can even observe Asian short-clawed otters up close!
