The path leading to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, called “dankazura,” extends approximately 500 meters from the second torii gate to the shrine itself. In 1182, Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first shogun of Japan, built the traditional street to the shrine as he prayed for the safe delivery of his wife, Masako. Cherry blossoms and azaleas are planted to the left and right, and the scenery is breathtaking during the flower season.

The temple was revered by the shogunate during the Edo period, and is also known for the enshrinement of Daikokuten, one of the seven gods of good fortune of Kawasaki.

It is about 19 hectares where they restore forests fallen into disrepair to familiar woodlands.
