Chigasaki Southern C is the symbol of Southern Beach Chigasaki and has even fronted the Southern All Stars CD cover. This place is famous as a matchmaking (En-musubi) spot as when one stands at the right of the C, filling the gap in “C”, a circle (“En” in Japanese) will be formed, essentially tying fates (also “En” in Japanese) together. It is also famous for being a photo spot in Chigasaki where you can snap a shot with the Eboshi Rock in the middle of the C.

Unlike modern flood control methods that build high, sturdy levees, these double levees make good use of nature and allow water to flow outward from them. It is said that this was invented by Shingen Takeda, also known as Shingen Tsutsumi, a general in the Warring States period.

Sagami puppet show, a form of Japanese puppet show with shamisen accompaniment that was conveyed to Sagami Province in the Edo Period, is a traditional art that was originally nurtured in Kagawa Prefecture. It is characterized by san-nin zukai, referring to the operation of puppets by a trio of puppeteers, and teppozashi, which refers to the appearance similar to aiming a rifle when operating the puppet’s head. Shiraku Hot Spring is a natural hot spring with water that springs from about 1300 meters underground. The seawater underground has been trapped for hundreds of thousands of years and here you can expect better skin metabolism, smoother skin, and recovery from fatigue.

Visitors can enjoy the changes in nature from season to season. There are well-maintained walking paths and grassy plazas, so both children and the elderly can enjoy forest walks to the fullest. Sojiji is the headquarters of the Soto sect. The steel-reinforced concrete gates at the entrance is Japan’s largest. The Nio (two Deva kings) that is modeled on Kitano Umi (Sumo wrestler) is standing inside.

This plantation, where you can harvest produce by hand, was opened to the public out of a desire to let others experience both joy of farming firsthand and the deliciousness of fresh vegetables. Fruits and vegetables grown with utmost care fill the plantation from end to end. By harvesting them yourself, you will experience a truly meaningful flavor when you eat them. The plantation also has a store where they sell produce.

This historic shopping street stretches along the entrance of Enoshima to Enoshima Shrine. It is lined with accommodations, restaurants, souvenir shops, and more, making it a popular tourist spot.

The Iiyama White Dragon Taiko and White Dragon Dance originated from ancient rainmaking rituals where people play their taiko and dance with white dragons to pray for rain to fall upon the plain of Sagami. Now it is also an event for the Iiyama Sakura Festival.

Constructed around 1927 (Showa 2) using a design by Kichizo Asaka, this communal residence was built for foreign residents. Originally, there were four identical apartments in the building, with the apartments on either side of the central entrance porch mirroring each other. Currently, the second floor is used for gallery exhibitions, meetings, etc.

It is used both as a library of Japanese modern literature and event site. They have more than 1.2 million collections. Some of them are entitled famous writers' names, such as Yasushi Inoue library, Shohei Ooka library and Soseki Natsume special collection. They usually exhibit Kanagawa literature. The museum also displays personal exhibitions of Sosuke Natsume, Ryunosuke Akutagawa and other Kanagawa related writers.

During the outbreak of an epidemic in Ebara-gun, Musashi Province, in the Genroku era (1688-1704), Yuten Shonin (a holy priest), who was on pilgrimage, taught the local people to revere Acala, a fierce Buddhist deity. Once they began to worship Acala the plague disappeared. Migawari Fudoson Temple began when one of its halls was built to enshrine Acala in order to give thanks for such a miracle. Nowadays, worshippers visit all year round in order to pray for traffic safety and to ward off evil. Visitors can also pray at the temple for family safety, business prosperity, academic success, and general good luck. The main temple is in Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture, with branches in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Suginami City, Tokyo.

This is an experiential facility that provides information on dams and water resources that you can learn through some fun activities. Based on the concept of "learning while having fun", this facility is filled with unique activities.

This shrine was founded in 710 (Wado 3) by famous priest Gyoki and constructed by Tokitada Someya, a powerful and rich man. It is dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. Minamoto no Yoriyoshi prayed to this shrine and his son, Minamoto no Yoshiie was born here. Founder and the first shogun of the Kamakura Shogunate, Minamoto no Yoritomo, his wife, Masako, a political leader, and their son, Minamoto no Sanetomo also worships this shrine. Here, you can find the well used for Tokimune Hojo’s (regent of the shogun) first bath and said to be Marquis Nijo’s favourite well. There is also an Man’yōshū (collection of Japanese poetry) inscription originating from the rear mountain named Mikoshiyama Mountain. This place also appears in the novel “The Sound of the Mountain” by Yasunari Kawabata.The greenery enveloping the worship hall and the straight, symbolic shrine path is lit up, creating a mystic and sublime atmosphere that beckons visitors.

A beautiful park with a fountain, stone pavements and flowerbeds, having a surface area of approximately 13,000 square meters. The name derives from the fact that the Italian consulate was located here during the Meiji period. One can view the verdant Yamate area from the lookout on the hill. Two western houses, the Diplomat’s House and the Bluff 18 Ban-Kan have been rebuilt here.

To this day, the working-class shopping district of Misaki still maintains a Showa-era atmosphere. Here you can find delicious tuna dishes and other tasty morsels. There are also special events with open participation. Enjoy a night in Misaki with a lot of eating, walking, and interesting things to do.

Sue-no-Sato is a workshop that produces the dishes, pavement, and lights for the Japanese cuisine restaurant Kokonotsuido. You can try your hand at handmade ceramics in their classroom surrounded by the beauty of nature. These lessons are available for groups of four. There is also a gallery where you can buy their works.
