Nikko Strawberry Park is the first strawberry grower in Tochigi to be certified by Global G.A.P.*， and is committed to high standards of safety and quality. Nikko experiences dramatic changes in temperature between the mornings and evenings， and has a source of clean water in the Nikko Mountain Range. These elements combined with the farmer's skill produce juicy strawberries with the perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. Additionally， there is a space where the strawberries are grown in movable elevated benches， eliminating the need to bend over to pick them so that visitors in wheelchairs or with baby carriages can also enjoy strawberry picking. *Global G.A.P. is an internationally recognized label granted to deserving companies in recognition of their practice of sustainable production which takes into account food safety， labor conditions， and environmental impact. G.A.P. stands for "Good Agricultural Practices".

This steam locomotive, called “Taiju”, has been operating since August 2017. “Taiju” is also known as the other name of the Tokugawa Shogun, who is enshrined at Nikko Toshogu Shrine. Tobu Railway, with its network from the Asakusa area in Tokyo to this Kinugawa Onsen area, was once called one of the biggest “kingdoms of steam locomotives”, as it used to operate as many as 85 steam locomotives mainly for forwarding freight. How about enjoying a ride on Taiju on the way to your sightseeing destination? All seats on the Taiju are reserved and can be purchased at Tobu Tourist Information Center Asakusa on the first floor of Asakusa Station, website,or Tobu Railway Line Stations. Shimoimaichi Station and Kinugawa Onsen Station are equipped with railway turntables where you can enjoy watching a dynamic steam locomotive in front of you!

The Taishi Food Inc. Nikko plant is located close to the Daiya River and produces tofu and soybean-processed foods made with clear spring water and selected ingredients. Visitors are free to come inside the factory， look around and learn about the healthy and nutritious soybeans via displays and videos. Other attractions offered at the factory include a tofu-making experience and sampling freshly made tofu and fried tofu. The roadside station “Michi-no-Eki Nikko Kaido Nikoniko Honjin” held a grand opening to the public on 27 April 2015. It is located at the junction of three highways known as the Nikko Cedar Avenue (Nikko-Kaido， Aizunishi-Kaido and Reiheishi-Kaido)， in the city centre of Nikko. The roadside station is a hub for tourism and transportation that leads visitors to sights such as the UNESCO World Heritage “Shrines and Temples of Nikko” and one of Japan’s most popular hot spring towns， “Kinugawa and Kawaji Onsen”. Nikko’s official “Michi-no-Eki” is home to a commemorative museum to the famous local composer Toru Funamura as well as restaurants and shops offering original local products， locally produced vegetable and fruits. A wide range of events take place in the performance hall and open space throughout the year.

Watanabe Sahei Shoten is a family run brewery from 1842in Nikko. Their spirit that “Junmai Jyozosyu" is an authentic sake”. *”Junmai” is sake made only with rice, koji , and water *”Koji” is fungus which converts the starch from the rice into glucose Of course, we use Nikko’s natural grand water to make nice sake in Nikko’s very cold winter. Why don’t you try it? The owner can speak English.
