History of Futarasan Shrine About 1,200 years ago, a famous monk Shodo Shonin found Shihonryu-ji Temple (belong to Rinno-ji Temple) and Futarasan Shrine (today’s “Hongu Shrine” belong to Futarasan Shrine). It symbolized the begin of the mountain beliefs of Mount Nantai. Since then, Futarasan Shrine was called “Ichinomiya (first shrine) of Shimotsuke Province” and became the center of faith in Nikko.   What makes Futarasan Shrine different? The main deity of Futarasan Shrine is Okuniushi, who is known for good luck and success in love. Many people come here to pray for the success of their interpersonal relationships.   The wooden vermillion bridge “Shinkyo” located at the entrance of Mount Nikko is belonging to the shrine, welcomes visitors to the world heritage site “Shrines and Temples of Nikko”.   You can also visit the Oku-no-miya located at the summit of Mount Nantai and the Middle Shrine located on the shore of Lake Chuzenji, both are famous power spots in Nikko.   The shrine holds famous festival “Yayoi Festival” every April, you can see many beautiful mikoshi and enjoy traditional music during the event.   ※World Heritage Site “Shrines and Temples of Nikko” includes Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Nikko Rinno-ji Temple and Nikko Futarasan Shrine.

Zushi Beach, lovingly named "the half-mile beach where the sun was born," is a family beach with shallow waters and quiet waves. It has aquired the International environmental certification "Blue Flag". The beach is protected by ordinances and other rules, and can be enjoyed with a peace of mind. Note: Drinking alcohol, barbecuing, exposing tattoos, and using loudspeakers or other loud-speaking devices are prohibited on the beach during business hours. Failure to abide by the rules may result in expulsion from the beach.The closest natural beach to Tokyo, Zushi is typically a bit quieter than Kamakura and Enoshima although it will get quite crowded at times. One of the most convenient beaches to reach from Tokyo, you can reach Zushi in just under an hour from Tokyo Station.

This is a direct sales center for freshly harvested Miura vegetables and Misaki tuna. "Yasai-kan" on the second floor sells Miura vegetables, meat, tofu, and a variety of breads, and "Urari Taste" is open for fresh juice, coffee, and craft beer. As a center for connecting “people,” “city,” and “culture” through sports and entertainment, this facility was opened on July 24, 2020, complete with a martial arts hall that can accommodate roughly 500 people on the first floor, an arena that can accommodate nearly 3,000 people on the second floor, and a VIP lounge on the fourth floor. It is primarily used for martial arts events, basketball, futsal, gymnastics, table tennis, and professional wrestling. In addition to sports, this facility can also be used to host music events.

The current Hakone Checkpoint was rebuilt based on the “Report of the Restoration of Sōsyu Hakone Checkpoint in 1865” discovered in 1983, as well as in accordance with findings from excavation and research around the site, and has been open to the public since April 2007. Along with the restoration of the checkpoint buildings, including the main guardhouse, the senior guard lounge, and the foot soldier’s guardhouse, the stone walls and stairs and wooden fences were also restored. Environmental improvements were implemented, such as laying electric cables underground and maintenance of the cedar trees along the road. The museum next to the rebuilt checkpoint exhibits 300 historical items including old documents, checkpoint passes, official bulletin boards, official stamps, checkpoint diaries, and matchlock muskets.Hakone Sekisho was part of the Edo-period road from Tokyo to Kyoto. This checkpoint ensured weapons did not enter Edo (Tokyo) and prevented feudal lords' relatives from fleeing (their wives and children were de facto hostages). Nowadays, it is a good place to see historical buildings along the street.

A pleasant green waterfront park. On the premises there is the Sail Training Ship Nippon Maru, symbol of Yokohama Port, and the Yokohama Port Museum, where you can learn about the history of Yokohama Port. The first dock, where the Nippon Maru is moored and preserved, is a nationally designated important cultural property, along with the sailing ship itself.

The birthplace of Japan’s modern social movements, preserving the legacy of Shozo TanakaLocated in Konaka-cho, Sano City, the "Tanaka Shozo's Former House" is a Tochigi Prefecture-designated historical site and the birthplace of Shozo Tanaka. He was a politician who dedicated his life to protecting the people from the Ashio Copper Mine Pollution Incident, advocating for environmental conservation and human rights. Known as one of Japan’s earliest social activists, he devoted himself to supporting the weak and voicing opposition to injustice. The house, built in the late 19th century, still retains its original thatched-roof style. It is open to the public as a memorial site. Inside, materials and exhibits related to the Ashio Copper Mine Pollution Incident are displayed, along with detailed explanations that help visitors learn about Tanaka’s life and activities. Shozo Tanaka donated all his property to his hometown before passing away, dedicating himself to agricultural education and revitalization, embodying the spirit of selfless devotion.

These free foot baths are located at the plaza in front of Tobu Railway Kinugawa-onsen Station. The simple alkaline springs are said to relive conditions such as nerve pain and muscle soreness. The baths are often visited by tourists after a day of exploring or trekking in Kinugawa. They are also used as a meeting place by locals."

The tour includes the viewing of historic and valuable Nissan cars. There are old cars from the 1930s, like production cars, historic race cars, Nissan street motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and other vintage vehicles. Narukawa Art Museum stands by the Ashinoko in Hakone, surrounded by trees. It was opened to the public in 1988. They have a collection of more than 4,000 works specializing in modern Japanese paintings. They have about 150 pieces of works by Gakuto Yamamoto, who has won an award for culture. This museum features permanent exhibits on the subject of the poet Matsuo Basho and the Ozeki clan， who were the lords of the Kurobane Domain. It also holds special exhibits intended to increase interest in the region's cultural heritage."

The Communication Hall of Space Science and Exploration building is a visitor facility operated by the JAXA Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS). Visitors can see exhibits up-close, including an authentic M-V rocket that completed ground combustion tests, test models of scientific satellites, and displays related to the asteroid explorer "Hayabusa2".
