This day-trip hot spring is in Nasu County， Tochigi Prefecture. Along with an expansive indoor bath there's an open-air bath to enjoy while looking at the Nasu Mountain Range and listening to the Nakagawa River. The spring is a sodium - sulfate chloride spring and it is known to help with strokes. This museum displays artefacts excavated from the adjoining sites such as the National Historic Site-designated Shimotsuke Kokubun-ji Temple Remains and Amadera Ruins， and the Tochigi Prefecture Historic Site-designated Maruzuka Kofun and Atagozuka Kofun. The artefacts on display range from the Kofun period to the Nara period. Many ancient burial mounds， temple and provincial office ruins， and other sites connected to the prefecture's history and culture can be found in the area around the museum. The museum presents the history of Shimotsuke City from a variety of viewpoints， including government administration and the lives of everyday people in the distant past， the relationship between the region and more central areas of Japan， and the development of civil engineering and construction technologies."

Try your hand at painting, hand building and wheel throwing at the Koisagoyaki Pottery Experience Centre “Toyu-kan”. Using local clay, visitors can enjoy a therapeutic and creative experience within natural surroundings. The spacious centre with a capacity of up to 100 is perfect for groups. Koisagoyaki is a historic gold-glazed ceramic art and is officially recognised as one of prefecture’s traditional crafts. The Koisago area in Nakagawa-machi is the home of Koisagoyaki pottery and a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Japan. One of the famous Koisagoyaki potteries, Fujita Pottery was featured on NHK Television’s travel programme in 2016.

This feature festival of Yunishikawa Onsen is held from late January to early March every year. Hundreds of small snow houses (mini-kamakura) are built and lighted up by candle lights. Irohazaka is a pair of winding roads (ascending and descending) connecting Nikko-city and the mountainous Lake Chuzenji area. The roads are named after the 48 syllables of the Japanese alphabet (kana) as they contain 48 hairpin turns while rising and falling 440 metres in elevation. The best viewing spot is the Akechidaira observatory on the descending road. The picturesque landscape is known as the most beautiful place to celebrate autumn leaves in Nikko， and it is well worth putting up with the traffic on the roads at this popular time.

The Usuzumi Zakura of Neo, the Jindaizakura of Yamataka, and the Miharu Takizakura are known as Japan’s Three Great Cherry Trees. These, along with the Ishiwari Zakura of Morioka, the Kosonju tree, and others, are all gathered at Tenpyo-no-Oka Park. From late March, when the Usuzumi Zakura begins to bloom, until late April, when the double cherry blossoms reach their peak, visitors can enjoy breathtaking cherry blossoms blooming throughout the park for an entire month. In addition to stalls run by local vendors, the festival features stage performances such as enka singing shows, appearances by manga characters, and rides on the “Shōnen Ressha” road train, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. The park also has a charming café called “10 Picnic Tables,” converted from an old farmhouse, offering a retro yet artsy atmosphere that contrasts with the main stage area. Visitors can enjoy delicious food while relaxing in a scenic, laid-back setting. Be sure to visit Tenpyo-no-Oka Park and experience the magic of cherry blossoms in full bloom.

The Takase Kanko Yana is a weir on the fresh waters of the Ara River.Come try fresh sweetfish cuisine while looking at the clear waters of the nearby Nakagawa River. You can even try your hand at catching sweetfish with their Yana traps. Enjoy robata-yaki in the tatami rooms and food cooked directly in front of you. The restaurant is open from June to November each year in accordance with the sweetfish fishing season."

This day-trip hot spring facility is located at the foot of Kawasaki Castle Ruins. Abundant hot water gushes from the spring, and guests can unwind in the spacious open-air and public baths. At the regular open-air bath, guests can also enjoy various seasonal bath variations, including the "iris leaves bath", "apple bath", and "lemon bath". There is a campsite and a mountain bike track on the premises, and fat bikes (bicyles with thick tires for mountain trails) are also available for rental. Jao Falls is a waterfall which runs into the Kinugawa River located alongside Prefectural Highway Route 23.The long， thin stream of water looks like a snake， hence the waterfall’s name (“ja” means serpent， and “o” is king). It's surrounded by forest， and the scenery is especially beautiful during spring with its young leaves and when the foliage turns colors in the fall."

This composite facility can be found along the Shiobara Valley Line in Shiobara， Nasushiobara City. You’ll find exhibits on Shiobara’s history and literature as well as a shop selling souvenirs and local produce， a cafe and restaurant specializing in western dishes made with local ingredients. There’s also a foot bath facility utilizing on-site hot spring water as well as a tourism information section and valley observation platform. "

This huge statue of the goddess Kannon was carved into the wall of a former Oya stone quarry and stands 27 meters tall. It was entirely hand carved as a prayer for those who have fallen in battle and as a hope for world peace. There are well maintained paths and stairs around the statue and from the top you can see all across Oya. If you are visiting Heiwa Kannon, you might also want to check out the Oyaji Temple and the local history museum that are nearby."

Selected as one of the “Top 100 Urban Parks in Japan”， lgashira Park includes an expansive natural forest that encircles a pond. The forest is also home to many wild birds with beautiful calls， and is a peaceful place that takes on many different appearances according to the season， including spring flowers， fresh green foliage， autumn leaves， and blankets of snow.

Michi-no-Eki Yunishigawa is a roadside station located in the north of Nikko， about 300 metres from the former Aizu-nishi highway (Route 121). It offers natural hot springs and a stone sauna， and local delicacies such as smoked salamander， strawberry buns and Bandai-mochi rice cake (not available in winter). The cafeteria serves uniquely dam-shaped rice and curry as well as locally produced soba noodles. Look out for Kurippa here， a local mascot based on a folk tale of the mythological creature Kappa. Accommodation can be arranged at the information desk. The car park has rapid charging points for electric vehicles.
