The path leading to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, called “dankazura,” extends approximately 500 meters from the second torii gate to the shrine itself. In 1182, Minamoto no Yoritomo, the first shogun of Japan, built the traditional street to the shrine as he prayed for the safe delivery of his wife, Masako. Cherry blossoms and azaleas are planted to the left and right, and the scenery is breathtaking during the flower season.

There are sacred trees related to family in the precincts, including a long-life zelkova tree, a father-and-son camphor tree, and a ginkgo tree with a hanging milk root, which attract many visitors.

Summer of Hibirano highland is cool and suitable for growing grasses and dairy cattle. This is the largest farm in Kanagawa. Cattle are growing in a free and relaxed atmosphere.

Apart from the lanterns, the Enoshima Shinto Shrine will be lit up which will create a dreamy atmosphere.

In this extensive garden estimated to be 2800 square meters wide, about 1300 shrubs of garden plants such as camellias, pines, and roses are planted here. There are over 200 types of camellias here, including the beautiful Himuro Setsugekka, a type of camellia with a pink and white base with red patterns, which blooms from the end of February to the end of March.

Taya-no-dokutsu (Taya Caves), located within the precincts of Josen-ji Temple on Mount Taya in the Daikaku-ji School of Shingon Buddhism, is officially called Yugado, a man-made cave dug by Buddhist ascetic monks for pilgrimages to sacred sites in Shikoku, Saigoku, Bando, and Chichibu. Josenji Temple was built in the first year of the natural calendar (1532) by high monk Takatsugu, a pupil of the highest ranking priest, Kaigen, a monk of Soshoin, a 25-bo temple in Tsurugaoka. But the cave in Taya is said to have been opened even earlier, in the Kamakura period, as a place for practicing esoteric Shingon Buddhism. Since then, from time to time the cave has been expanded and now measures 570m in actual size. The cave has three levels, upper, middle, and lower, with 17 large and small spaces connected by passageways, with walls and ceilings carved with mandalas, eighteen arhats, and Buddhist stories by Doshin Karukaya.Experience a historic Buddhist meditation cave with many beautiful wall carvings and murals. Explore the cave with a candle in hand, while entering different chambers including the meditation hall for a true spiritual experience.

Once you exit the ticket gate, you're already at the antique market. Approximately 300 treasure-shops await you! Shops from all over the country offer antique folk implements from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods, as well as calligraphy, paintings, hanging scrolls, porcelain replicas, crafts, vintage fabrics, and Western antiques. The Kanagawa Yamato Antique Market is sure to satisfy everyone from beginners to collectors. Many foreign visitors also visit. The market is open from 7am to 4pm, rain or shine.

The Sengokuhara Silver Grass Plains is prided as one of the best in the Kanto Region. Stretching until the vicinity of the southern foot of Mount Kintoki and the northwestern foot of Mount Daigatake, the glimmering Silver Grass Plant Community is one of the sceneries representing Hakone in autumn. It is listed as one of the “Top 50 Scenic Spots in Kanagawa” and “Top 100 Flower Places in Kanagawa” and attracts many tourists every year.During the afternoon hours, when the sun is hidden behind the mountains, the silver grass is illuminated by the sun, creating a golden meadow. From the observatory, you can enjoy the night view of Yokohama Bay Bridge, Marine Tower, and Honmoku Pier. Bench seating makes it an ideal meeting place.The Yokohama Bay Bridge is lit blue from 40 meters to the top of the main tower for 10 minutes every 20 to 30 minutes and every 50 minutes until midnight.
