The fifth of the Five Great Mountains(temples) of Kamakura, Jpmyoji temple is a Buddhism temple belonging to the Kenchoji school of Rinzai Zen. There is a beautiful rock garden with a Japanese atmosphere. At the Kama Garden Terrace, you can enjoy the view of the garden while enjoying a cup of tea.

Katsushika Hokusai, a world-renowned ukiyo-e artist, was born in Honjo-Wari-Gesui (presently the Kamezawa area in Sumida Ward, Tokyo) in 1760 and spent almost his entire 90 years of life in Sumida Ward where he created a large number of masterpieces. In honor of this outstanding artist whom many local citizens are truly proud of, the Sumida Ward opened the Sumida Hokusai Museum as a base to invigorate the local community and contribute to the region’s industry and tourism. The collection features an exhibit of Hokusai and his disciples. Exhibitions of research and many other activities of relationships between Hokusai and Sumida are held.　

There are numerous exercise facilities such as an athletic field, baseball field, tennis court, and soccer field. It is also the home stadium of J-League Kawasaki Frontale. This dam is situated in the northwestern part of the prefecture, near Higashitanzawa and is the largest gravitational concrete dam in the Greater Tokyo Area. There is a 6 minute long release of water from April through November, every Wednesday, the second and fourth Friday of the month, and every second Sunday of the month. It is done at 11 o'clock and 2 o'clock past noon.

This is a fire festival held during Little New Year (around January 14) that has continued since the Edo period. In summer, nine sites are set up on the beach, which is crowded with bathers, and fire is lit to pray for good health and family safety. The festival is designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan and attracts many people every year. It is said that if you eat dumplings cooked over the fire you will not catch a cold, and if you write your name on a piece of paper that you burned and it flies up high it will make your arms grow longer, and if you take a pine cinder and put it on your roof it will be a charm to ward off fire.

This flea market is held on the third Saturday night of the month, usually from April to July and from September to October. The Fureai-dori Arcade has shops for eating and drinking, and the shopping street has several locations for live music, dance performances, and shows by street performers.

This museum is located in Hiratsuka. Exhibits focus on the nature and culture of the Sagami River basin. A planetarium is attached to the museum and is popular among children for its interesting constellation stories, the latest space information, and various other contents (note the projection dates and times).

It is a small-scale store built on Kawasaki Daishi land in 1884, and they have protected the tradition of Edo noodles ever since.

From early June to early July, you can witness natural Luciola cruciata and Luciola lateralis fireflies. Travel through the grove of cedar trees to reach the iris garden, which resembles a scene from paradise at night when the fireflies dance through the skies above it.

Oisojoyama Park is a park where the former Mitsui Zaibatsu owner had his villa as well as where former Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida spent his last years.
