Jorakuji Temple was founded in the first year of Kenkyū (1190) as the family temple of the famed physician Nakano Tomoyuki. When Nakano Tomoyuki investigated the illness of his daughter, it marked the first time acupuncture therapy was introduced to Japan. Later, he was summoned to the imperial court to treat Emperor Go-Toba’s illness and was given the title “Rokujihōgen.” As his medical skills became widely known throughout the country, it is said that even the Thunder God himself once visited the temple for acupuncture treatment, making Jorakuji especially famous as a temple connected to the deity. Because of this tradition, the temple grounds are affectionately called “Rokujison-sama.” It is also known for the beautiful red spider lilies that bloom in abundance around the precincts. Every year on February 11, a grand festival is held, attracting many worshippers and visitors, creating a lively atmosphere.

Mamada Hachimangu Shrine is said to have been founded as far back as nearly 1200 years ago during the years of the Tenpyo Era.On Children's Day on May 5 every year， the "Jya Matsuri" (Snake Festival)， which is a Tochigi Prefecture Intangible Folk Cultural Asset， is held and enjoyed by a great many people. In the spring cherry trees blossom and ceremonial sumo matches are held in September， as well as a variety of other events making the shrine very popular. The shrine's dohyo was also the filming location for “Thermae Romae II”."

This exhibition facility located in Yamato-cho， Tochigi City makes use of the Tsukada family's storehouse. They were prominent lumber dealers during the Edo period (1603-1868)， and this hall displays some of their important items."

"Nikkozan Yumoto Onsenji Temple" is a branch temple of the world heritage site "Nikkozan Rinnoji Temple". Its history dates back to 788 when Shodo Shonin, the founder of mountain worship in Nikko, discovered a hot spring and enshrined Yakushirurikou-nyorai (the Buddha of healing) to alleviate suffering. Since the Meiji era, it has been known as a hot spring resort for common people seeking recovery and longevity.   While traditional sutra copying or Buddha tracing involves transcribing the entire sutra or drawing the entire image, Onsenji Temple offers original templates designed to be completed in approximately 15-20 minutes. For the Onsenji 16-character sutra copying, you will trace a section of the Yakushi Sutra written in light ink using a brush pen. For Buddhist image copying, you will trace the outline of a Buddha drawn in light ink using a brush pen.   Both practices allow individuals to connect with the Buddha, receiving their blessings and promoting mental and physical relaxation. The time spent engaging in sutra copying and Buddha tracing, fostering a deeper connection with the Buddha and oneself, is truly invaluable. As a token of your experience, participants who complete sutra copying or Buddha tracing and offer their work will receive a special temple stamp. Enjoy a mock Sumo festival of Ikiko Shrine. Nakizumo， crying baby Sumo， is Japan's traditional event to pray for health and growth of the baby. In this style of Sumo wrestling， two children from one to two years of age are carried respectively by two local parishioners dressed as Sumo wrestlers to battle each other with shouts of "Yoisho， Yoisho，" with the winner being the who cries first. It is held at Ikiko Shrine every September.

Approximately three million red and pink poppies blossom in full glory from mid-May to mid-June in an approximately 1.5 hectare field in the river terrace of Arakawa River in Sakura.

The Oyama Honba Yuki Tsumugi Craft Museum offers visitors the experience of wearing an elegant kimono made from the fine silk textile “Yuki Tsumugi”. The process of refining the traditional Yuki Tsumugi silk is inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In order to allow people to fully appreciate the comfort of their garments the museum provides all-day kimono rental including kimono and obi with dressing assistance included free. The Mibu-machi Toy Museum provides displays of model trains on an elaborate landscape diorama along with a model train driving experience. 18 world heritage sites including temples and shrines of Nikko are placed on the N-gauge (25m2) diorama. The driver’s seat on the HO-gauge (37m2) provides excellent views, and is equipped with a sound system to give visitors a realistic railway experience.   The museum has an interactive app-based game, which you can unlock fun quizzes and characters on your device. Collect answers and points within the specified time limit to break the hidden seal in the castle! The app is the perfect way for the whole family to play and learn about the museum.

Kurobane Castle Ruins Park is known and loved for its flowers; the Kurobane Hydrangea Flower Festival is held here when the roughly 6,000 hydrangeas in the area come into bloom.   From inside the park, visitors can admire the flowers that line the old moat from the bridge. During the festival, various events including a haiku contest and photography contest are held, and stalls are set up. In the evening (from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm), the hydrangeas are lit up so that visitors can admire them even at night-time.
