Mount Oyama has long been firmly believed to be a mountain of spirits. During the most prosperous period of Edo, 200,000 people were recorded to visit this mountain every year. Back then, shrine visiting, beginning with the pilgrimages to Ise Shrine, was extremely popular among the people. Among the many travel destinations, Oyama was loved by many for being only two or three days away from the cities of Edo. A popular route was to have fun at Enoshima after visiting Oyama. This sight was portrayed in the classic rakugo, Oyama Mairi. In April 2016, Oyama Mairi qualified as a Japanese heritage.

At Nakai Satomachi CAFÉ, you can relax while gazing at Mt. Fuji. Brand specialties are also on sale here. Next to the café, a giant pizza oven measuring approximately 2 meters across, and a kitchen range have been installed, and there is a Satomachi Kitchen where people can try their hand at making pizza.

Tobiccho is concerned about the freshness and tastiness of Shirasu (whitebait, baby sardine). The shirasu don't stay fresh so long that Tobiccho uses only ones caught on the day. The shirasu come directly from Shonan, Fujisawa, Katase and Kamakura fishery port.

A ship that connects Eshima Ohashi Bridge and Chigogafuchi Abyss, turning a usually 40 minute walk into a 10 minute journey. The cliffs of Enoshima and the dark green landscape of the trees are charming, and in good weather, you can see Mount Fuji.

Around 300 Koinobori, carp-shaped wind socks, in different sizes, in the air above the Suzugawa River. There will be stalls and other entertainment that both kids and adults can enjoy.

During the event, Yamate 234 will feature holiday lights and Yamate Italia-Yama Garden will host a candlelight garden. Other Christmas-related events (some with fees) will be held at each building.

Built around 30 years ago, this residence is situated almost halfway between the Great Buddha of Kamakura and Hase Kannon. An area with lots of vintage bars about a 1-minute walk from Yokosuka-chuo Station. It’s packed with about 70 shops including long-established snack bars, karaoke bars, and Japanese-style pubs with great food. This place is also known as the birthplace of the Yokosuka Brassiere, a cocktail of brandy cut with ginger ale.

Using the stream from Nakatsu River that flows through Nishitanzawa, you can enjoy fishing cherry salmon, rainbow trout, and salvelinus leucomaenis (iwana). According to your skills, you can choose either river fishing or pond fishing. Barbecue sets as well as fishing tool sets are available for rent. Large buses are allowed.

This is the scene of the Namamugi Incident in 1862, where British merchants were slashed when they interrupted the procession of Shimazu Hisamitsu, the feudal lord of Satsuma. As revenge, the British bombarded Kagoshima, resulting in the Anglo-Satsuma War. However, as a result of the war, ties between Satsuma and Britain were strengthened, encouraging modernization. These Anglo-Satsuma ties became the centre of the Meiji Restoration.
