This rest area is located along the Fujisawa Yamato Bicycle Path. There are restrooms and benches, and a beautiful view can be seen with the Sagimai Bridge, a landmark suspension bridge in Sakaigawa Yusuichi Park, in the background.

This is a nature-rich managed fishing and barbecue area located in Tanzawa Oyama National Park. Visitors can enjoy mountain stream fishing in a natural setting and barbecue along the river while fishing. There is also a fishing pond for children and beginners, and trout catching can also be enjoyed in summer. Only 10 minutes from the Isehara-Oyama Interchange on the Second Tomei Expressway, it is easily accessible from the city center, making it an easy place to enjoy outdoor recreation.

Shonan Beach Park is a gigantic park stretching about 2 km along the Kugenuma and Katase Coasts. The spacious 17-hectare grounds of Shonan Beach Park contain a surf village, which is bustling with surfers and people playing marine sports throughout the year. There is also a kids' space with big playground equipment and a sandbox, and a green lawn with palm trees that overlooks the ocean. The park is fully equipped for all purposes and is loved by visitors in summer as well as the local people.

Back in the day, the biggest difficulty for those travelling on the Tokaido road was Hakone. The place of healing for them was Hakone Ashinoyu hotspring. More than 300 years ago, in 1715, "Kinokuniya" was born in Ashinoyu. Here you can enjoy the high quality hotsprings.

The Sojiji Temple is the head temple of the Soto school (of Zen Buddhism). Every summer, the Mitama Matsuri Bon Odori Festival is held. It is now established as a local summer tradition, and many participants enjoy dancing the Bon dance to the cheers of the energetic monks. Please come and join our Bon Odori Festival!Held over three consecutive days from July 18 to 20, this huge summer festival is a Tsurumi summer tradition. Featuring a Bon Odori dance with the temple priests, a fireworks display with 200 fireworks launched over the three days and many stalls lining the approach to the temple, this lively festival attracts crowds of people of all ages and genders.

Take a leisurely stroll through the thickets of 130 species of wildflowers and grasses, such as the calanthe discolor, the golden-rayed lily and the mountain hydrangea (or 'tea of heaven'). 

Johotsugan-ji temple, established by the ascetic Mokujiki monk Tanzei Shonin, is the main temple of the Tanzei sect of Tendai Buddhism.

The Nishimon Shopping Street is located south of Sagamihara Station on the JR Yokohama Line and is home to Taro Okamoto's "Red Hand Blue Hand" sculptures.

This stone monument was built commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Akutagawa Prize awarded to Shintaro Ishihara's novel "Season of the Sun". Zushi Beach is called the "half-a-mile beach where the sun was born" for its actively enjoyed marine sports throughout the year. This monument is a symbol of Zushi Beach.

When Yokohama port was opened, one Chinese man came holding Kan'u’s wooden statue and he set up a temple worshipping Kan'u. Since then residents of Yokohama Chinatown worship this temple.

Located on the mountain top of Kamakura Mountain, Fueda Park is a park where you can interact with nature. As there is a walking path, while enjoying the greenery of Kamakura Mountain, it is possible to head towards Shichirigahama. When the weather is nice, you can see Mount Fuji.

This mountain is located on the border of Yugawara and Hakone, allowing a magnificent view of Mount Fuji and Lake Ashinoko. It is named after the famous Japanese painter of pre-World War II Japanese art, Taikan Yokoyama, who was said to love painting Mount Fuji.The panoramic view of the setting sun and Lake Ashi in the direction of Mt. Fuji is superb.

This is a festival of Inage Jinja Shrine which takes place at the beginning of August. On the last day, two portable shrines called "Kujaku (peacock)" and "Tama (jewel)" that enshrine male and female god each will parade through town. Stalls will line up on the shrine premises that boost up the festive mood.IMPORTANT NOTE: The festival dates are not always consecutive.In 2026, the dates are June 14, 15, & 21.

【Forest Promenade】This 300-meter-long promenade stretches out in the direction of the cape from the Nakagawa Museum of Art. Midway there is a hut for bird-watching. 【Forest Therapy Promenade】 As opposed to the Forest Promenade, this promenade stretches out towards the south and is 850 meters long. 【Banbaura Promenade】 This promenade is about 450 meters long and stretches from Kamegasaki to the Banbaura car park along the coastline.Going in the morning is recommended. As you stroll along this course, enjoy the crisp air and feel the sea breeze during any season.

This Spanish-style (western style) building is located at the southern end of Harbor View Park (Minato-no-Mieru Oka Koen), from where you can see the harbor. The coffee room on the first floor is an open space where you can overlook the rose garden. The rose flavor tea is a popular souvenir.

A barrier-free urban strawberry orchard run by a nursing couple.You don't have to travel far to visit and anyone is welcome.Their Spanish suspended cultivation system with wide aisles allows wheelchairs and strollers to pass through. The view of the strawberries overhead is spectacular.Even children can harvest at just the right height. Please use scissors and a basket to harvest the strawberries and enjoy them at a table.Please enjoy seeing and tasting the strawberries ripened to perfection in the sunlight.
